流动.cn, got it through preregistration :) .
What do you think of the name and what about IDN.cn in general compared to IDN.com ?
流动.cn
do u mean to mobile.cn? 流动.cn is not a correct term of "mobile", actually, 流动 means water flows. So there is no value of 流动.cn IMO.

如果是 mobile...
大陸習慣稱為「移動」...

他應該就是指這個,但中文光說「移動」.cn也不成一個有用的網址。前面有的加品牌例如中國移動,或者後面加名詞,例如移動電話之類的。外國人靠著翻譯軟體來找中文網址確實很困難的。

It says something with "flow" for chinese traditional, with chinese simplified it gives "mobile" , can you confirm that chinese simplified is also translated differently ?

what do u mean to confirm? mobile should come up with "行動" or "流動" PLUS something(ex: 電話) would be better, only "行動" or "流動" can not be a complete term in Chinese no matter simplified or traditional Chinese.

I see, now I understand why you don't like generic terms :) .
Mobile has no relevance unless you state what kind off mobility is meant.
So if I want to grab a "mobile" domain related to cell phones, I'll have to
translate "mobile phoning" right ?
Thanks again.

行動 = motion
電話 = telephone
行動 + 電話 = mobile (tele)phone
verb + noun = adjectival noun + noun
Yes, in English, "mobile" is enough, in Chinese, only an adjective without a noun is not good. Because people won't understand what kind of term you refer to. Only a single adjective domain is not a good domain in Chinese, for example, 美麗的.com is not good, 美麗的女孩.com(beautifulgirl.com) or even 美麗.com(beauty.com) are much better than 美麗的.com(beautiful.com)

"mobile" on it's own is translated to the chinese "motion" or "flow",
if "motion" is added to "telephone" it becomes "mobile phone" .

Ok I see, this makes it more interesting from a linguistic perspective but a whole lot less interesting from a commercial viewpoint.
