今天收到 VeriSign 的通知信，他們已經和 Symantec 完成簽約，將憑證授權的業務賣給 Symantec ，包括相關的商標與品牌。

Upon closing of the transaction, the VeriSign Authentication Business, which includes the PKI, VIP and SSL assets, will become part of the Security and Compliance Group at Symantec, and VeriSign's network infrastructure and domain name business will continue to exist as a separate independent company retaining the VeriSign name.

VeriSign 除了打造堅固的平台贏得信任以外，主要是靠 B2B 的品牌行銷，因為付錢客戶不是一般消費者。

簡單的說，當微軟的軟體使用 VeriSign 簽章，要求合作的軟體商也必須用 VeriSign 簽章，無形中就讓他水漲船高了。

當我們公司的軟體出去的時候，如果是下載版的，都會請客戶檢查一下VeriSign的數位簽章，就算不認識 VeriSign 的，也慢慢會知道他們是做什麼的。
